In today’s video we will explore the question is it true that eating pineapple in pregnancy can lead to miscarriage? We take a look at the benefits of pineapple for pregnant women, and whether or not this is truly safe to consume. The main concern is with an ingredient called bromelain, a natural enzyme in pineapple which can stimulate blood flow, however this is not a problem when eating the flesh of the fruit.

We also take a look at the risk of eating pineapple while you are pregnant. It is best to avoid this if you have indigestion, diabetes, peptic ulcers, low blood pressure, allergies to pineapple, or obesity..

It is safe to consume pineapple during pregnancy?

Yes, the amount of bromelain in pineapple flesh is unlikely to cause any problems with your pregnancy, and there is no scientific evidence to say otherwise. You could easily consume 2-3 pineapples per day without any problems.
